Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

It boots no matter what monitor is connected or even in case of no monitor. Problem is that HDMI driver from Allwinner doesn't support non CEA resolutions, which basically means only half HD, full HD, 4K and some others low res. So it doesn't really matter if I try it on non FHD monitor or not, because I know what is the result.

You can try to change script.bin with sunxi tools and set resolution to 720p. Maybe your monitor will show something. You can find many tutorials on the net how to do that.

First boot takes longer, around 5 min and it reboots automatically when it is done. Currently well ...

Well as i said, i tried on my FHD TV and the openelec splash screen comes up for about 2-3 mins then auto reboots (?) and then i have no video signal.
Definitely not 5 mins, so i guess it doesnt configure itself and fails.
Maybe its due to power supply. I ve tried 2 sd cards both samsung class 10 16/32 gb so there is no problem there.
Maybe my board is defective, i hope no.

Just to make sure i do everything right:

1. I use SDFormatter to format the micro sd card.
2. Then i burn openelec image with Win32DiskImager.

When i insert the micro sd card and power it on, green led lights. Should there be red led too?
Should i use other burning tool like rufus?
Maybe the image is corrupted.
I ll try to re-download.

Hummm. I've got one of those little "HDMI to VGA adapters" too, think I'll try it. And, of course OpenELEC Cold Boots fully, to the main Kodi screen, on the HP2335 monitor, which is on VGA set @ 1920 x 1080 w/60hz. So, Open ELEC no longer likes my Vizio VO22L FHDTV10A 22" 1080p (I stand corrected, on the screen size), yet it did two upgrades past.
So, let me make a wild stab of conjecture, best guess, that if I change the resolution in "Script.bin" to match what the HP is set to, the Vizio should start working again?  And, I need to make another correction to my entries. On my re-boot power button correction or toggeling power on my monitor, I'm not comming back to the "Kodi splash screen", rather the "Kodi main" run screen. The HP monitor showed me that too.

Hi,
I also tried the latest OpenELEC build from 2016/8/6 on my opi PC. It did start as jernej saw from my console log. I'm using an HDMI to DVI cable may be this is a reason. I manually wanted to change the display settings (like armbian script h3disp is doing), but at the moment I worry a bit....

I took power off after ~5 minutes because H3 is getting extremely hot. Meanwhile I got a heatsink (bought from Kolbers.de), so the CPU is protected a bit. Anyway, temperature ware continuously increasing starting from 53 degrees to 69. Then I took power off.
Some log:
OpenELEC:~ # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq
1296000
OpenELEC:~ # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq
480000
OpenELEC:~ # cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp
68
OpenELEC:~ # cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp
70

I have not seen this issue with the latest armbian. I'll go back to armbian as long as there will be a next OpenELEC image, where I could try it again. But I can provide more information, if needed.

Best Regards

Disable RSS in kodi settings.

thanks for your answer. I would, if you could tell me how... My main issue is (still) the black LCD display.
Have a nice day

Can you try this update? Link is valid for 14 days.

I disabled USB support in U-Boot, which fixes at least one boot problem and speeds up booting. Also power (green) LED turns on almost immediately after a power on (patch taken from Armbian).

Thanks jernej
Ok, I'll give that a try. g5828aec is the same ending, as the current version I'm running. But, by disabling usb, I guess it does pick usb back up, farther down the stack somewhere anyway right?

I've just got to remember how to get it to act like an automatic update so I don't dump my user settings, which it's not saving again. and I think I've got too many runnable apps stored on the SD card. I need to expand the partition, it refused to do a backup last night.
