That's a very good link and explains (in Russian) how "su" works in Android.
In short: "su" in Android is split into two parts: 1) "su" itself and 2) GUI app to ask user for permission and keep list of allowed programs. And thus "su" will not work correctly if GUI part is missing or installed wrong.

I have some success with:
OPI+
opiplus_android_20150605.zip on TF.
UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip

- I prepared TF using PhoenixCard_V310 and opiplus_android_20150605.zip
- Then I had been using that system for some time
- Then I took TF and mount it to linux box. It had a number of partitions.
- I found location of bin, xbin, app and etc folders among this partitions.
- Then I followed instructions by garyang with appropriate modifications using files from UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip
- Please mention dot in ".su" in instructions
- opiplus_android_20150605 also has [system]/bin/su, which must be removed.
- I also found and removed old *.supersu.* data files and apk too.
- Then I inserted TF to OPI+ and device become rooted. But supersu worked slow: CheckRoot test was taking much time.
- After that I updated SuperSU to version 2.49 with Aptoide. Now CheckRoot test finishes immediately.

(Also I tried Android terminal emulator, and "su" command does not what I expect. I have no idea what it does.)

Looks like my method is not working as described. Before rooting opiplus_android_20150605 with SuperSU v1.94 I tried SuperSU.apk v2.49 and that's a key moment.
- I followed instructions by garyang with appropriate modifications using files from SuperSU v2.49. Then I started to complain that it fails to replase SU binary.
- Then I replaced Superuser.apk and "su" from older v1.94. It worked without complains, but slow.
- And then I updated SuperSU to v2.49 in Aptoide.


So, I get sun8iw7p1_android_orangepi-plus_uart0 on TF rooted too.

I tried exactly the same on OrangePi PC and this image: http://www.orangepi.org/orangepibbsen/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=507&extra=page%3D1 without success. After boot, SuperSu says that binaries are not installed and SuperSu is unable to install them.

I can't manage it to be working, so unfortunately I'm forced to drop that image, because not rooted system is not for me.

This image ist rooted ans supersu with normal metod update binaries non problem,where is your problem??

Any one-click app that works with the regular OrangePi-PC image?
I've tried KingRoot and iRoot, but they had no success... btw there are still some alternatives to try for easy rooting.

Side question:
while tring KingRoot the OS frozen so i've tried long-pressing power button as suggested in the manual but it did not work. Do you know how to wire a reset button on the board?

Hi Guys,
Try following
1. Install ADB driver on your system (Laptop/PC).
2. connect usb cable  OPI micro usb.
3. Install USB driver app on you OPI. go to app enable USB Debugging and MTP
4. Install USB Driver on pc/ Laptop
5. Install USB Mode switch on OPI.
6. Install Kingo Root on (PC/Laptop).
7. KIngo Root Must detect OPI if it not detecting go through step 2 to step 6. follow instruction on KIngo root software on PC/Laptop.
This worked for me try it it might work for you people also.
