Is it just me? 5 minutes in and I lose interest. Finding a movie or especially a show that fully grabs my attention is insanely hard. I honestly have big complaints about cinema. Is it really that hard to write a good script and shoot it well?

I'm reading your question and I realize that I have very similar thoughts. Sometimes you sit down to watch something and there seems to be an expectation, but literally after a few minutes you already catch yourself that attention is slipping away somewhere else. Maybe it's not just the scripts or the staging, but simply the fact that we perceive stories differently at different moments. For example, I often find myself feeling that cinema as a whole has changed, and it's harder for me to immerse myself in it the way I used to.

But are you sure the problem is actually with movies and shows? One thing is when you like something and don’t like something else, that’s normal. But if you can’t finish a single movie and after 5-10 minutes you’re already distracted by everything around you, I’d stop and think about that if I were you.
