We recently added Trust Swiftly to our crypto wallet platform, and now we’re exploring the best KYC flow for onboarding new users. Right now, we’re thinking of combining email OTP, phone SMS, and document verification to strike the right balance between security and user experience. Some users are pretty sensitive to friction, so we don’t want to overdo it. Has anyone tested different combinations? What’s worked best for minimising drop-off during signup while still staying compliant and secure?

Combining email OTP and document verification worked well for us. SMS adds friction—test without it to reduce signup drop-off.

We use email OTP with selfie+ID verification. It's smooth enough for users and keeps us compliant without overwhelming friction.
